mum’s right leg’s on a cast, and so i’ve been assigned nurse duty ever since she got discharged from the hospital (along with two weeks of MC). i’m not complaining, it’s nice to have the chance of showing some gratitude for what she has done when i’m sick. still, it can be a chore for the both of us, so you have no idea how we both have been looking forward to her first appointment with the specialist two weeks after. and so i drove her to the hospital on friday, and once her appointment’s due, i excused myself to do some shopping at the nearby (Queensway) shopping mall.

as i stepped out of the lift on my way to her clinic, you have no idea how shocked i was when i saw that she was still in her cast. and she’s holding on to a month-long MC too. i don’t think i can survive staying at home all day for 4 damn weeks.

on the bright side, she gets to watch the olympics all day, uninterrupted.

i’m addicted to Estelle’s American Boy. it’s even more awesome that zouk plays it at mambo ever so often. it’s sung by a Brit nonetheless, but what about a song about Brits? apparently Chris Moyles did a spoof, filled with non-American humour no doubt. check it out plus all the (better quality) spoofs available online:

Somerset Boy (lyrics in the “description”)

Canadian Boy (in a place where all say eh~)

and my personal favorite, Chinese Boy (technically, it should be Chinese-American Boy, PRC boys ride their bicycles, not Civics)
